I made a collapsable frame to allow the brake line and electrical harness to extend with the extendable tongue on the trailer. Normally, you would have to disconnect the brake line in order to extend the trailer (often a quick disconnect is used). Disconnecting the line (even with quick disconnects) can lead to air in the brake line and a loss of braking power. The tongue extension system is a great convenience and avoids disconnecting the brake line entirely (see pictures).

This is how it works . . .
The tongue extends from the trailer frame. The collapsable system serves as a track to protect the brake line and electrical wiring. Brake line flex hose is used at the bend areas. The extension system prevents over-extension of the tongue, making it easier to locate the holes for the pin. This makes the whole process of extending and retracting the tongue a lot quicker.
