After owning a Formula 330 Sun Sport for 9 years, I decided it was time to look for the ‘next’ boat.  Designs and styles have changed over the years and the Formula 330, although a great boat, was feeling a bit dated. 

We had seen a Cruisers Yacht 338 at a boat show in 2019 and really liked the idea of a mid-cabin bowrider.  Often called ‘crossover’ boats, they combine the extra seating capacity of a bowrider with the cabin amenities of a cruiser/day boat.

Outboard motors were also becoming a thing, so the search included some outboards as well as mid-cabin bowriders, most of which were sterndrive powered. A list of boats was compiled and the search was on . . .
