I wanted to change the design of the seating a little to make them looked a bit more contemporary. I decided to go with a channeling (quilted) vinyl on a portion of the backrests and make the ends of the backrests more square than their current rounded look.
I mocked up the design to see how it would look.

making patterns
There were about 15 pieces total that needed to be made in the new design and color scheme. Along the way, I found that some of the vinyl had shrunk to a point that it was not suitable for making the new patterns. So, on many of the seats I made patterns from scratch.
I added a touch of color to some of the end and corner pieces and also changed the helm seat color pattern to ‘liven’ it up a bit.
