Second Boarding Ladder

I was used to having 2 boarding ladders on the swim platform, as my custom swim platform on the Formula 330 had 2 stow-away ladders.  One ladder for people and the second ladder for the dog ramp.  Alternatively, with large groups of people, 2 swim ladders comes in handy.

The CY 338 had one stow-away type swim ladder on the port side.  Access to the swim deck was from the starboard side.  My initial thoughts were to make another swim ladder on the starboard side just like the port side.  It would be a bit of work, making the hatch and compartment for concealing the ladder.  Time being of the essence, I opted for a pocket style of ladder as the second boarding ladder.  It was relatively easy to make, and if I want to go with a fully concealed ladder in the future, I certainly could do that.

Here are a few pictures of the second boarding ladder.

The ladder is contained in a water-tight ‘pocket’ and slides out to extend when needed.

While I had the toolbox open, I added another cleat along the sides of the boat to hang fenders in a desired location.  It seemed like that spot was a particularly good place to have a fender when docking/rafting, yet there was no cleat in the area.
