Improvement Projects

Now that the boat was home, there were a number of projects that I was planning to do.  First order of business was to get the boat winterized and the ‘priority 1’ project was re-upholstering the seats.

The boat also did not have a couple of the more popular options . . .  TV and Microwave.  So, I planned to add those.

Here is a list of the initially planned projects:

  1. Bullet Re-upholstery  - Top priority project  > > > Quick Link to Re-upholstery

  1. Bullet Second Boarding Ladder - This would be needed for our busier days on the water.  > > > Quick Link to Boarding Ladder

  1. Bullet Microwave - Useful for overnights

  1. Bullet TV - Useful for overnights.

  1. BulletSea Water Strainers - these prevent cooling system clogs and extend the life of the sea water impeller.

  1. Bullet Additional Cleats - There seemed to be no cleat where you would want to hang a fender.

  1. Bullet Solar Charging System - Since the boat sits on a mooring and is power hungry, even when not in use. > > > Quick Link to Solar Charger

  1. Bullet Trailer Adjustment / Backup Camera - The boat initially loaded about 4” off center when we first ‘retrieved’ it in November 2021.  Hopefully some adjustments to the trailer will help. > > > Quick link to Season Ending & Trailer Adjustments

  1. Bullet Bathroom Lighting - The bathroom has no source of natural light and the lighting in there is not great.  I plan to add a PIR switch to automatically turn on the light and add another light.

Longer term - some potential projects are:

  1. Bullet Extended Swim Platform - The swim platform is fairly large, but additional space would be nice.

  1. BulletTransom Pods - I’ve noticed that the transom is inset about 2 feet more than a typical 33 foot boat, making the hull essentially shorter.  Time-to-plane is really bad vs. my Formula.  Transom Pods should help and give some additional flotation at the stern (for larger crowds at the sandbar).

  1. Bullet SeaDek Flooring - The snap-in vinyl ‘carpeting’ on the cockpit sole is OK, but SeaDek would be nice.

  1. BulletCamper Canvas - The boat did not have the camper canvas, just the mooring cover.  I plan to make a camper canvas for overnights.
